The AVT of Castilla y León asks the Cortes to develop the 2017 law and “positive discrimination” for those affected

He president of the Cortes of Castilla y León, Carlos Pollánvisited the headquarters of the Association of Victims of Terrorism in Castilla y León and met with the president of the organization, Sebastián Nogales, who called for “organic development” in the parliament of Law 4/2017, of September 26 . recognition and care for victims of terrorism in the Community.

According to him, only this development would allow them to benefit from “substantial improvements”, as well as “positive discrimination in certain aspects” so that the victims who reside in Castilla y León are truly “more than just a number for the institutions”.

Pollán explained in statements collected by Ical that he wanted to “listen to their projects and initiatives” and, “as far as possible, put the Cortes at their service in what we can do and collaborate with them.”

“I’m sure we’ll find something we can collaborate on, because they have a lot of projects, a lot of ideas and a lot of issues to move forward on. I think that the institutions must be with them, because they represent a group that, for me personally, but I think for all of Spanish society, it is very important”, he emphasized in statements collected by Ical .

Nogales, for his part, assured that the AVT is aware that it must go “hand in hand with the institutions”, and asked that society keep in mind that “in this Community we have suffered a lot” . “We have behind us a human group of around 250 people victims of terrorist barbarity, belonging to different terrorist groups but the vast majority of whom are ETA groups. We hope that this institutional visit can be returned to the president when he considers it to speak, meet and see progress if there is any or could be any,” he stressed.
