The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has undergone changes.
Oku.Az The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has issued a statement on the matter.
Changes to the track have reportedly been made and the location of two DRS zones has been confirmed.
Compared to last year, the walls have been rebuilt in many parts of the track: in the exit area of the first turn, between the third and fourth right-hand turns, between the twelfth and thirteenth right-hand turns, in the fifteenth right-hand turn. At the exit of the twelfth turn, the line marking the road limits has been moved closer to the wall.
In the areas of the exit of the sixteenth curve, in the area between the nineteenth and nineteenth curves, as well as on the straight track between the sixth and seventh curves to the left, between the nineteenth and twentieth curves to the left, the walls were replaced with new ones.
At the exit of the pit lane, between Turns 2-3 and between Turns 7-8, small parts of the asphalt surface have been changed.
There are two DRS zones left in Baku, but the length of the second has been increased by 100 metres compared to last year. The gap measurement point before the first DRS zone coincides with the second safety car line and the system can be used 54 metres after the second corner.
The measuring point for the second DRS zone is at the apex of Turn 20 and the system can be activated 347 metres after the turn.
