At the closing plenary session of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), held in Baku, the decision was made to provide financial and technical support to countries in development in the field of capacity development and Preparation of Biennial Transparency Reports in accordance with Article 13 of the Paris Agreement.
AZERTAC reports that the decision includes the implementation of the Enhanced Transparency Framework created by Article 13 of the Paris Agreement, including financial and technical support for the preparation of Biennial Transparency Reports by developing countries.
The Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform, an initiative of the COP29 Presidency, was included in the decision. In that decision, the actions carried out by the COP29 Presidency in the field of climate transparency, including the organization of a series of capacity-building forums and trainings dedicated to climate transparency, the establishment of the Global Platform of Baku Climate Transparency, which is the main legacy of COP29 in the field of climate transparency, were well received by the state parties.
