The Balearic Islands allocate one million for basic necessities for those affected by DANA in Valencia

The Balearic Islands will allocate a million euros for the purchase of essential materials for people affected by DANA in the Valencian Community.

The Department of Families and Social Affairs announced that the Balearic Government will allocate one million euros to meet the basic needs of the population affected by the effects of DANA on October 29.

Following the instructions from the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP)responsible for coordinating aid and donations throughout the territory, and in close collaboration with the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands (Felib), the Government will make this contribution that essential goods can be acquired on the territoryas requested by the Valencian Community, according to the needs of each moment of the emergency.

From the first hours, the Balearic Government has maintained contacts with the Generalitat Valenciana, as well as with other entities such as the Red Cross and the Felib itself, to offer all the support and assistance necessary for contribute to alleviating the misfortune that devastated many Valencian municipalities and caused the loss of many lives.

The Balearic Government wanted to thank the citizens of the Balearic Islands for their solidarity and expressions of affection towards all the victims of this terrible misfortune.

Last Thursday, The Government made an institutional declaration to express solidarity with the communities of the Spanish Levant, in particular Valencia and Castile-La Mancha, and Anthony Costaspokesperson for the Regional Executive, offered his condolences to the families of the victims and sent a message of support to those who lost their homes and property.

From the beginning, the Balearic community has offered all possible help to those affected, as well as to the Valencians residing in the Balearic Islands because, as Costa indicated, “it is time to face this complicated situation together and to “do not give up efforts to help families “recover and resume their lives as quickly as possible”, thanking the work of emergency services and the collaboration of citizens.

As a sign of mourning, The official flags of the Balearic Islands are still at half mast.
