“Today Azerbaijan constantly implements various measures aimed at the development of alternative energy sources.”
This is Azerbaijan’s green agenda and the policy of developing alternative energy sources Oku.AzMP commenting Jeyhun Mammadov saying.
“We have long seen that our country has started a rapid process here. That is, some time ago, cooperation with Masdar of the United Arab Emirates and before that with Acwa Power companies in the production of solar and electrical energy began. energy. We assist in the construction of solar energy plants.
Today, the reality is that Azerbaijan’s technical potential in renewable energy is 135 gigawatts and 157 gigawatts offshore. That is to say, these are quite serious figures.
In Azerbaijan, it is planned to build 6 gigawatt solar, wind and hydroelectric plants by 2030. A ten gigawatt renewable energy agreement and memorandum of understanding were signed.
As we mentioned, the companies “Masdar” and “Acwa Power” are already doing real work in relation to the projects implemented together with the United Kingdom, and this is an indicator of the importance that Azerbaijan attaches to the process and how quickly it started.
Another goal of Azerbaijan today is to sell green energy abroad. As Mr. President mentioned, there is a global project to lay an energy cable from the Caspian Sea to the bottom of the Black Sea, which will allow Azerbaijan to sell its energy abroad.
Another issue is that today there are very broad possibilities and opportunities to declare green energy zones in Nakhchivan, Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
In general, Azerbaijan is one of the countries that can ensure the world’s transition to green energy, both with wind and solar energy, and today Azerbaijan has great potential in this regard. Azerbaijan is taking all necessary measures to realize this potential.
Mr. President responded to this issue in a very comprehensive and detailed manner at the Leaders’ Summit and clearly stated the goals and objectives of Azerbaijan. This will create many possibilities and opportunities for us. In other words, in this way Azerbaijan will achieve its goals.
Azerbaijan has long been engaged in the export of gas and oil. Now our country is simultaneously working on the sale of green energy and alternative energy sources, and is working intensively to achieve its goals through effective use of its solar and wind resources,” said J. Mammadov.
