Representatives of the least developed countries clearly disagree with the results of the negotiations on the new collective quantitative target.
“Informe” reports that the television channel “ANewz” broadcast information in this regard.
They criticized the proposed text, saying: “Our priorities have not been taken into account. We cannot work on this text at this time.”
Bolivia’s representative from the Organization of Developing Countries made a similar statement, calling the figures inadequate and insulting:
“250 billion dollars is not a joke, it is an insult. Even 300 billion dollars is unacceptable. This figure should be at least 500 billion dollars,” the television station quoted the delegation as saying.
India also joined Bolivia’s position, insisting on a new collective quantitative target of at least $500 billion a year to meet the needs of developing countries.
The African bloc also expressed similar disappointment and emphasized that its proposals were not taken into account. One of the representatives reiterated the main demands and expressed his dissatisfaction with the project.
