The blue language faces the PP and PSOE in the Extremadura Assembly

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Sustainable Development, Mercedes Morán, assessed the management of the blue language in Extremadura after the question asked this Thursday, November 7 in plenary session by the socialist deputy, Eduardo Béjar, on the measures unanimously approved to the Assembly for the Prevention and Control of Animal Diseases.

In this way, Mercedes Morán highlighted that the Government of Extremadura works “seriously” in the face of livestock diseases which represent a “catastrophe” for breeders in the region. While The socialist described his management as “disastrous”.

The Minister of Agriculture stressed that since the appearance of the first outbreak of bluetongue, the regional government has taken all measures, in the same way as it did for tuberculosis and epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHE ), who added that no matter how much Béjar puts “lies in his mouth and repeats them a thousand times, they will not become true.”

He insisted that measures have been taken, as well as contacts with the laboratories purchase the vaccines acquired “as they are manufactured”. “Of serotype 3 and all necessary vaccines of any serotype as soon as they are manufactured,” according to Europa Press.

Regarding the distribution of vaccines, he said that in Extremadura they are freecompared to others like Castilla La Mancha, governed by the PSOE where breeders must pay for their vaccines.

“We provide economic resources to provide the solution to this disease. And when it was necessary to reach agreements with other autonomous communities to release lambs for export, we reached agreements with Aragon and Catalonia to have serotype 8 vaccines and that our breeders could not be affected by this export”, he underlined.

Likewise, he stated that bluetongue affects several communitiesfor which he declared that “the ministry must act in this area because it cannot leave the autonomous communities alone as it did with the EHE. And that is why we have signed an agreement with all the agricultural organizations that have representation in Extremadura and with the agri-food cooperatives.”

The PSOE regrets the “disastrous” management

For his part, the PSOE deputy Eduardo Béjar, who began his speech with a message of solidarity and support for those affected by DANA, also showed his support for the breeders in the region affected by animal diseases, in addition to demanding measures with the Council.

In this sense, he recalled that on October 24, a socialist motion had been approved for the Regional Executive to take measures in this direction, in particular for breeders affected by bluetongue, which has not yet been madehe criticized.

Regarding the management of bluetongue, Béjar recalled that on September 26, Councilor Morán declared in plenary session why did the community want vaccines against serotype 3 if they only had serotype 1.

“Well, Madam Advisor, there are four serotypes of bluetongue in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, 1, 3, 4 and 8, and we do not see that you are doing anything because your statements are: “We are not going to pay anything to the breeders, we are only going to buy vaccines” . But if they don’t have vaccines against all serotypes, what will they do? What help will they put in place? “, he asked.

For this reason, the socialist deputy wondered if “it was so difficult” to admit that “this is not being done well”, in addition to criticizing the fact that the Council cannot speak of the “disastrous management” of the previous government. when the current executive of Extremadura is doing a “disastrous management of this crisis”.

“Let another person take charge because you do not have the capacity to solve the problem, Ms Morán”, launched the PSOE deputy in the Extremadura Assembly.
