In one of the Kuzbass mines, the roof collapsed. The body of a miner was found under the rubble.
“During the rescue operation, the body of the missing miner was found under the rubble with no signs of life. “Steps are being taken to bring it to the surface.” — reports the investigative department of the Russian investigative committee for the Kemerovo region.
Rescuers and investigators from the Investigative Committee continue to work at the scene, the department explained, adding that witnesses are being interrogated, technological documentation is confiscated and the necessary examinations are ordered.
Preliminarily, investigators established that on the night of November 16, 2024, a sudden collapse of the roof occurred at the Tashtagolskaya mine of JSC Evraz ZSMK in the Tashtagol municipal district during ore extraction.
The Investigative Commission opened a criminal case under Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities).
