The book with the 20 best clinical cases of the students of the MIR of Navarre

He College of Physicians of Navarre edited the book online with the 20 best clinical cases presented at Competition X for internal resident physicians (MIR) 2024. The two cases that reached the final stage of the Competition are also published.

The book publishes the winning cases of the first, second and third prizes of the competition and whose main authors are: Julio César Moreno Alfonso, fifth-year resident in pediatric surgery at the University Hospital of Navarra (HUN), for his case entitled “Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM): An innovative and effective treatment in pediatric achalasia”; Marina Planelles and Estrella Varga, residents in medical oncology at the University Hospital of Navarra (HUN), for their clinical case entitled “Acute inflammatory myositis/Myasthenia gravis syndrome due to grade 4 toxicity to immunotherapy: the success of multidisciplinary and interhospital work”. and Miriam Vicente Ruiz, fifth-year resident in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN), for the case “Facial mass in children. A diagnostic and therapeutic challenge”.

It also includes the price for best poster for the case entitled “Toxic epidermal necrolysis after ibuprofen: management and complications” whose authors are Inés Oteiza, Ana Morelló, Elisa María Gómez and Ane Carrera, residents in dermatology and venerology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN).

In addition to the winners, the two cases that reached the final phase of the competition by César Urtasun Iriarte (Radiodiagnosis, CUN) and Ander Larrea Iñarra (Cardiology, CUN) and the 14 clinical cases selected to be presented in poster format by Amaia Martínez de Eulate Cía (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, HUN), Íñigo Arroyo Pérez (Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, CUN), Christian Alejandro Espinoza Vinces (Neurology, CUN), Jorge Illarramendi Esteban (Hematology and Hemotherapy, HUN), Estrella Varga López (Medical Oncology, HUN), Ángel Andrés Henares Chavarino (Plastic, Aesthetic and Reparative Surgery, CUN), Maite Odriozola Garmendia (Cardiology, HUN), Elisa María Gómez González (Dermatology and Venereology, CUN), Ana Morelló Vicente (Dermatology and Venereology, CUN), Lucía Parrado Gil (Allergology, CUN), Naroa Moreno Muguiro (Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, CUN), Jon Ander Gil Salaverria (Family and Community Medicine, CS Estella), Blanca Gómez Romero (Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, CUN) and Alba Edo Olucha (Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, HUN).
