Maritime Rescue has rescued two canoes south of El Hierro in the past few hours, a total of 132 migrants, arrived on the island in good health, except for one of them, who had to be transferred to the Virgen de los Reyes island hospital.

Yesterday Tuesday, the Acrux rescue boat rescued a first canoe in the waters near the island, in which a group of 58 peopleincluding 4 women. The boat was seen 28 kilometers from the coast by Adhara sea rescue services as it was heading towards another rescue facility, further away from the island. The migrants disembarked at the La Restinga quay around 1:20 p.m.

The salvamar Adhara, for its part, returned to the La Restinga dock after 5 p.m., with a total of 74 people rescued of this second cayuco, located 110 kilometers from El Hierro by the Helimer 201 plane. Among the occupants were. three minorsapparently in good health.

So far this week they have been saved a total of 415 migrantssince these 132 new arrivals are added to the relief efforts at dawn on Monday, with 283 people who were transferred to Los Cristianos (Tenerife).

According to the latest report from the Ministry of the Interior, a total of 39,713 migrants have arrived in the Canary Islands since the start of the year and until November 15, i.e. 23.3% more than during the same period. of the previous year. With the arrivals of the last four days, the Canary Islands Route has already comfortably exceeds 40,000 migrants in 2024, representing 73.25% of total immigration to Spain.
