The Canary Islands exceeded 480 migrants this weekend and continue to add boats

The Canary Islands Route closes an intense weekend with four new rescues in the waters of the islands, which brings the number of migrants to more than 480 who arrived in the archipelago since Friday and to whom 43 people were rescued today, Monday.

In recent hours, four boats have arrived in the Canary Islands, which means more than 170 migrants the most received in Tenerife, El Hierro and La Gomera, among which three transfers to hospital centers were necessary. Several of them arrived on their own, while others were located and assisted by Maritime Rescue.

The last one arrived this morning, more precisely a canoe with 43 people on board towards the coast of Las Galletas, in the municipality of Arona (Tenerife). The warning came around 3:10 a.m. that a boat had arrived in the city under its own power.

For his part, the rescuer Adhara went to the rescue around 10:13 p.m. in La Restinga, south of El Hierro, of a boat with 74 peopleincluding a baby. The boat, on board which were all migrants of sub-Saharan origin, arrived at the port without assistance and supervised by Salvamento. Already that same afternoon, others had been rescued. 69 migrants in the waters of El Hierro.

In this case, by its own means, a boat arrived with 42 people at the Marina del Sur in Tenerife, who landed on the island around 3:13 a.m.

In La Gomera they were rescued 57 sub-Saharan peopleincluding two minors, you locate them near the Mizar Salvamar and the Helimer 201 helicopter, which transported them safely to San Sebastián de La Gomera.
