The continued burning of firecrackers by people during the Diwali holidays in India has worsened air quality in the country, with the air quality index approaching the “severe” category in many parts of the capital, New Delhi.

According to the information, despite the complete ban on the use of firecrackers in the capital, following the explosion of firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, New Delhi was named “the most polluted city in the world” on November 1.

At 6 a.m. on November 1, the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 359, which corresponds to the “very poor” category.

It may be noted that firecracker explosions were observed in Lajpat Nagar, Kalkadji, Chhatarpur, Jaunapur, East Kailash, Saket, Rohini, Dwarka, Panjabi Bagh, Vikaspuri, Dilshad Garden, Burari and also in many other districts of East and West Delhi.
