The preliminary investigation into the criminal case against Bahruz Askarov, accused of planning terrorist acts in Azerbaijan, has been completed.
According to “Qafqazinfo”, the materials collected in the case were submitted to the Baku Serious Crimes Court for consideration.
Taleh Garashov, head of the executive authority of the city of Lankaran, and a foreign citizen were recognized as victims of the case. The case will be examined by the court chaired by Sabuhi Huseynov.
28.120.2.1, 28.120.2.10, 28.120.2.11, 28.120.2.12 of the Criminal Code against B. Askarov, who was brought to criminal responsibility by the State Security Service (SSC) (repetition on the grounds of national, racial and religious enmity and hostile preparation for assassination), 28.214.2.1, 28.214.2.3 (preparation to commit a terrorist act using firearms and objects used as weapons), 28.214-3.1 (preparation for terrorist training), 28.277 (preparation for an attack against the life of a public official) and articles 28.278.1 (preparatory actions aimed at forcibly changing the constitutional structure of the State).
It was determined that Bahruz Askarov engaged in secret communications with people living in different regions of the republic and instructed them to organize an assassination attempt on the life of the chief executive of Lankaran.
It also became known that Bahruz Askarov ordered his contacts to carry out a conspiracy against a foreign citizen who works as an English teacher in some regions of Azerbaijan.
However, as a result of the measures taken by the DTX, he was unable to conclude his criminal acts.
