BRICS countries should build a more just and reasonable world order and firmly defend their right to development, said Wang Gang, deputy head of the propaganda department of the Central Committee (CPC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC), during a speech at a symposium on public administration and the forum of the association on humanitarian exchanges among the association countries, TASS reports.
He recalled that a meeting of BRICS leaders will take place in Kazan in a month, during which it is of particular importance for all countries of the organization to discuss common experience of public administration and hold events on humanitarian exchanges.
“The transformations in the world are unfolding in unprecedented ways. The greatest changes not seen in the past hundred years are accelerating. A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is unfolding in depth, and the balance of international forces has changed significantly.” – said Wang Gang.
He noted that the number of BRICS countries continues to grow.
“BRICS countries should firmly uphold their right to development, encourage developing countries to pursue independent development paths, lay the foundation for consolidating multilateralism and building a more just and reasonable international order. The modernization of BRICS countries should be achieved through innovation, BRICS countries should strengthen interaction with each other in innovative development and study ways to enhance international competitiveness.” Wang Gang further said.
The international situation, according to him, is intertwined with chaos, anti-globalist tendencies, protectionism and global challenges are worsening. Factors of uncertainty, instability and unpredictability are increasing.
“Practice has proved that the BRICS countries independently choose their own development path, jointly uphold the right to development, and move towards modernization. This is not only the development needs of their countries, but also an important contribution to the global governance system and the international order. The modernization path we choose shows our wisdom. The way we jointly advance along the path of modernization clearly demonstrates our unity.” The representative of the CPC Central Committee drew attention to the fact that most developing countries now have the will, ability and means to choose the development path that suits them based on national interests and actual conditions, Wang Gang added.
China, he stressed, intends to continue to stand firmly on the side of developing countries and promote modernization in the global South.
