The Ministry of Justice is holding for this next Monday, September 9, the opening civil servant New City of Justice of Lucenaoperational since the beginning of August, as part of an event in which the president of the Junta de Andalucía will participate, Juanma Moreno.
Sources from the Andalusian Government have confirmed to ABC this long-awaited appointment “if there are no last-minute changes to the agenda.” Thus, it is self-evident to cut the inaugural ribbon of this infrastructure, during which during this month of August, practically inactive at the judicial level, the activity of the Guard Court with the final details for its premiere.
The new judicial headquarters of Lucena was received on August 1, once the installation work of the new electrical energy transformer inside was completed and certified – one of the last obstacles – and some complementary work carried out in the surrounding spaces.
Over the following days, the furniture, files and archives were transferred from the headquarters on San Pedro Street and on the 5th it became partially operational with the holding of some quick trials of the Guard Court.
The one in Lucena will be the first high-resolution headquarters in Andalusia and will serve as a model for those that will now be built in Andalusian medium-sized towns. The building triple the area of the current one and it is prepared so that the city and the region can have a fourth court, a permanent request of the Lucena Bar Association.
The work was carried out by Vialterra, with a investment of 5.5 million euros. They began in December 2021, with Juan Marín, Minister of Justice and Local Administration, of Ciudadanos. Although the execution period was 18 months, the need, finally, to modify the location of an electrical energy transformer, forced to delay the start of an activity that the current councilor, Jose Antonio Nietoscheduled for January this year.
The building has almost 4,000 square meters of built area spread over three floors and access to the roof. The property can accommodate four courts of first instance and investigationone of them being able to meet the needs in terms of Violence against women; the Common Service of Procedure of the Judicial Party; Civil Registry; the Territorial Section of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Cordoba; the regional area of Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Cordoba; and guard court.
In addition, it has two observation rooms and a third that will also be used for weddings; detention area; document deposit and evidence deposit; general dependencies such as access hall, professional schools, meeting room, security and access control, technical, maintenance or warehouse premises.
