Summer is a time when many cities in Spain celebrate their festivals, taking advantage of the good temperatures and the massive influx of tourists and their own neighbors, who usually have days off for such important dates. This is the case of Costsmunicipality of Cadiz which has one of the most beautiful beaches in Andalusia and which this weekend offers the starting signal for your fair.
This fair, which pays homage to the city’s patron saint, the Crowned Virgin of Lightdad from this Sunday, September 1st and will last until the following Sunday, September 8, in a week with a multitude of events to see to have a good time in this town on the coast of Cadiz.
One of the most anticipated events of this fair is the arrival of the Marian image on September 1st, although the main attraction is the Agricultural cavalcade which accompanies the Crowned Virgin of Light and in which nearly 700 riders participate, which has made it a celebration of Tourist interest of Andalusia.
Fair programming
On Saturday 31st, the coronation of the youth and children’s queens and the inaugural proclamation will take place, which will be the events preceding the lighting of the Real de la Feriawhich will take place at midnight on Sunday, September 1st.
On Sunday, September 1st, the Agricultural Parade of the Sanctuary is celebrated in Tarifa, an eight-kilometer procession with nearly 700 horsemen accompanying the virgin.
Tuesday, September 3rd is the children’s dayso that the little ones can enjoy the attractions at the single price of 2 euros. On the other hand, the Wednesday 4th is the day dedicated to women, with special programming in different stands. The next day is youth day: with two-euro attractions and discounts with special bracelets at several stands.
On the last day, the patron saint of Tarifa begins a procession and a fireworks display will close the festivities.
