Lebanese Shiite armed militias, along with other armed groups, besieged Israeli forces for a year, until the difficult clashes They forced Israel to withdraw its troops.

The war in Lebanon continued for seven more years and finally, in 1990, a brutal conflict ended. It caused more than 120,000 deaths.
