The Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod issued a verdict in an administrative case against comedian Dmitry Gavrilov, accused under Art. 20.3.3 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens). This was reported by the court’s press service on its social network page.
“On September 6, 2024, the investigator of the Special Investigation Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region established that a video written by Gavrilov had previously been posted on the video hosting service YouTube . which contained negative information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, humiliating the Russian military service system and the image of the Russian officer.” – says the message.
Gavrilov fully admitted his guilt and repented. The court, after examining the evidence, came to the conclusion that Gavrilov’s guilt in this crime was proven.
The court sentenced him to a fine of 30 thousand rubles.
As reported EADailyOn September 8, the comedian was supposed to perform at the DKRT concert hall in Nizhny Novgorod. Before the concert, the artist was arrested, by court decision he was found guilty of a crime provided for in art. 20.3.1 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Incitement to hatred or enmity). The comedian was sentenced to 13 days of administrative arrest.
After his arrest, Gavrilov recorded a video in which he admits his mistakes.
The reason for the arrest was one of the comedian’s videos on Gavrilov’s YouTube channel, published in September last year. According to a linguistic study conducted by specialists from the Dobrolyubov National State Linguistic University, the video revealed signs of humiliation of human dignity.
While Gavrilov was serving administrative arrest, it became known that an administrative case had been initiated against him under an article about discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
