The Commission inaugurates a virtual entrepreneurship node in Malaga with a presence throughout Andalusia

The Advisor to the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanzannounced today at the inauguration of World Economic Forum on Photonics with the mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torrethe creation of a virtual node for digital entrepreneurship with which “we intend to expand throughout Andalusia, especially in small municipalities and rural areas”.

This is a ninth node which completes those included in the agreement signed with the School of Industrial Organization (EOI) which includes the launch in major Andalusian cities of eight High Performance Business centers, eight digital entrepreneurship centerstraining for new professionals in the digital economy and training programs improvement (training a professional in new skills and competencies). Antonio Sanz stressed that “the training will facilitate the digital development of businesses, young people’s access to technological professions with high added value and especially digital entrepreneurship. These projects align with the entrepreneurship model supported by the Junta de Andalucía. A model in which public-private collaboration is essential to support and promote emerging Andalusian businesses.

In this sense, the advisor emphasized that “we must offer our young people the necessary training to meet the demand for ICT profiles from Andalusian companies”. “We want technology to be the third economic engine in our region and this is already the case in provinces like Malaga,” he said.

The new virtual technology node There is currently an open call for 12 courses for young people and eight courses for businesses and during the month of October specific training courses in digital entrepreneurship and business project development will be launched, in which, in addition training, tailored personalized advice will be given to the projects of companies and entrepreneurs.

Among the courses it already offers to unemployed youth are network administration, network technician, analyst and cybersecurity technician courses, which will be delivered in collaboration with the Networking Academy of Ciscoand this will allow students to obtain official certifications in these areas.

In addition, two Artificial Intelligence courses are also available, with which you will obtain an official diploma of Samsungas well as video game development courses using different tools and courses specialized in e-commerce, social media, digital marketing, application development and data analysis.

World Economic Forum on Photonics

The announcement was made during the inauguration of this international photonics forum, a thriving and fundamental industry for technological progress and in which Málaga has been a pioneer thanks to the photonics research group of the University of Malaga. Startups such as Bioherentwhich applies this technology to the fields of health, science and engineering, or AGPhotonicsspecialized in the design of devices and systems based on integrated photonics.

In this sense, the advisor to the Presidency also wanted to highlight the role of Andalusian technological and scientific parks, “real spaces for the concentration of talents and innovation as Malaga TechParkan ally in the promotion of an avant-garde technological Andalusia”, he underlined.

Antonio Sanz, recalled that this will be “precisely where the future IMEC semiconductor manufacturing and R&D center will be installed, the University Center for Microelectronics“. This is the second innovation center for chips on 300 millimeter wafers in the IMEC Foundation worldwide, which will occupy 46,000 square meters and for which the Régie has acquired the land within the TechPark in Málaga where it will be installed.

The facility was created with the aim of developing new processes for prototyping 300 millimeter chips in new materials, alternatives to silicon (on which the research of the first IMEC center in Leuven), which are currently difficult to combine with CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) processes. It thus seeks to respond to new research and development needs for new prototypes to be at the forefront of technological processes that will be developed over the next decade, in fields such as medicine, photonics, quantum technologies or reality. increased.

The advisor emphasized that “today our region surprises in digitalization, in strategies such as cybersecurity or artificial intelligence, which are becoming drivers of change in Andalusia.”
