To date, a total of 102 local entities in the region have submitted their request to carry out cooling actions in early childhood and primary education centers. In this regard, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Amador Pastor, recalled that the extension of the deadline for submitting applications is open until December 3.
This plan includes three successive calls to reach 160,000 schoolchildren and more than 13,000 teachers in public educational centers throughout the region, with a budget of almost 50 million euros. The execution time available to the municipalities for this first call will extend until September 2025.
The Minister of Education highlighted all this during the inauguration, chaired by the President of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, of the Molinitos Infant School, in the Toledan town of Consuegra.
It is about one of the largest nursery schools in the province of Toledo, with 87 places in total, which recently began operating in the “magnificent” facilities built 13 years ago and which had remained closed. This school has received funding from the Community Board of more than 320,000 euros, from European Union funds.
To date, the regional government has signed 111 agreements, which represents the creation of 2,866 municipal places. In addition, it opened 66 nursery schools, which have 1,610 places.
