Liputan6.com, Jakarta The working committee (Panja) of the bill on the food of the IV commission in the House of Representatives held a working visit to the campus of the Agricultural University of Bogor (IPB) on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
The visit, headed by the chairman of the Commission of the House of Representatives of IV, Titik Seaharto, is aimed at absorbing the aspirations related to the revision of Law No. 18 of 2012 related to food.
“This visit is aimed at discussing and listening to the opinions of professors, lecturers and IPB students related to discussing the revision of the food legislation, which is currently being discussed in the commission of the IV of the Indonesian parliament,” said Firman Soybagyo, a member of the Panja Food, Saturday, Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Firman said that the discussion forum, which was opened by Vice Canticler IPB and took part in eight professors, teachers and students, went smoothly and complete substances.
Council members receive various contributions from professors related to the proposed material for revising food legislation.
“These views and proposals will become an important directory for the working committee for the preparation of an academic manuscript and project.
Firman also explained several issues that were the subject of discussion on the forum. Such as food sovereignty, diversification and replacement of food, formation of free nutrition programs (MBG) in laws with certain standards, transformation of the role of Bulog.
“As well as the desire to make fish as one of the main alternatives to execute power and protein in the MBG program,” Firman said.
This member of the Indonesian parliament from the constituency of the Central Java III also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and universities in the field of research and food policy.
The government, according to the company, should be open and actively build cooperation with universities to conduct research research.
“The results of the study should be the basis for the formulation and implementation of policy, especially related to diversification of food and replacement,” he said.
