Armenian state officials are making false peace declarations again.
The other day, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, said that they had sent to Baku a package of proposals for the full approval of the draft Yerevan peace agreement: “We have sent the last package of proposals, we are waiting for the response from the Azerbaijani side”.
Such statements have been clearly answered many times. If Armenia does not meet Azerbaijan’s conditions, it will be difficult to sign a peace agreement.
The conditions proposed by Azerbaijan may include the following:
– Change Armenia’s aggressive constitution;
– Restoration of violated civil, property and human rights of Western Azerbaijanis;
– compensation for damage caused to Azerbaijan during the occupation;
– Armenia’s apology for the crimes it committed against the people of Azerbaijan and Western Azerbaijanis between 1988 and 2023;
– Payment of damages during the period of occupation of the land;
– Presentation of a map of mined areas;
– Waiver of claims against Azerbaijan;
– Territorial claim against Türkiye and renunciation of false accusations of genocide, etc.
Those who want to hastily sign a peace agreement with Armenia spread various statements posing as peace lovers, without taking into account such official conditions. The Iranian official tries to appear progressive to the international community, as if he is transparently working to appease the country’s population to Armenian society.
Official Yerevan is also trying to be seen as a party that wants to start the normalization process with Türkiye. In this sense, the Ankara official has conditions before the Armenian authorities:
– abandon the false claim of the Armenian genocide; This question should be left to historians to investigate;
– Do not present so-called unfounded territorial claims against Türkiye;
– Normalization of relations with Azerbaijan;
– Opening of communications;
– Return of lands occupied by Armenia, etc.
Regarding the last condition, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated the following in an interview with the newspaper “Turkey”: “After the signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, relations between Turkey and Armenia will be normalized.” .
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that he welcomed the work carried out in the field of delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Therefore, Türkiye’s conditions regarding Armenia have not changed. It is through the signing of the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia that relations and relations with the country.
15 years ago, on October 10, 2009, a bilateral protocol between Turkey and Armenia was signed in Zurich, Switzerland, which included the beginning of the process of normalization of relations.
However, for this process to take place, the Ankara official proposed to the international community that Armenia withdraw from the Azerbaijani lands it occupies.
Due to the occupation and aggressive policy and position carried out by the Yerevan official, the issues stipulated in the protocol were not materialized.
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his speech at the 11th Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkish States in Bishkek, called in this direction and said that after 30 years, the doors of the path to peace and stability in the South Caucasus: we wish and hope that it will be approved.
The statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fida once again show that Ankara and Baku continue their efforts to ensure regional peace and security. Armenia engages in traditional disruptive activities in this direction. Official Iran still ignores the conditions of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and plays a destructive role in the South Caucasus.
So all cards are clearly available, terms and offers. Under these conditions, favorable proposals for Armenia were made. However, official Yerevan still cannot show concrete will.
