Following Al Jazeera’s denials that its personnel had links to terrorism and the military wing of Hamas, an IDF spokesperson, speaking in Arabic, presented new documents confirming these links.
In his statements, he noted that the data shows the financing and support that Hamas receives from the Qatari television channel. In the 2022 document, Hamas explicitly admits that it provided Al Jazeera with clear instructions on how to cover the failed rocket launch by Islamic Jihad terrorists that led to the deaths of several Gaza citizens.
In particular, the channel was instructed not to call this event a “massacre,” as well as to limit the number of photographs from the scene and to avoid criticism of Hamas terrorists by participants in the channel’s discussions.
In another document from the same year, Hamas issued specific guidelines to Al Jazeera journalists on how to cover Operation Dawn against Islamic Jihad. These instructions emphasized that journalists should refrain from criticizing the combat capabilities of the terrorists, many of whose missiles failed to fire and fell in Gaza.
Another document, dated 2023, indicates that Hamas established a direct telephone connection with the Al Jazeera network, allowing the organization to interact confidentially with the channel in emergency situations.
Previously, Cursor wrote that the IDF presented intelligence data and a series of documents discovered in the Gaza Strip, confirming the military connections of six Al-Jazeera journalists: Anas Al-Sharif, Ala Salama, Hassam Shabat, Ashraf Al- Sarraj, Ismail. Abu Amra and Talal Al-Aruki, with the terrorist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
