“Achieving ISO 20121:2024 certification for COP29 demonstrates commitment to sustainable event management.”
“Informe” reports that Konul Garashli, Operations and Sustainability Assurance Manager of the COP29 Operating Company, said this at the briefing on the Green Zone at COP29 for the country’s NGOs organized by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company and organized by the State Agency for Support to NGOs.
According to him, the practices created during COP29 will help future events focus on more sustainable activities:
“Achieving ISO 20121:2024 certification for COP29 demonstrates commitment to sustainable event management, thereby minimizing the environmental impact of the event and increasing social responsibility.”
He said that the fact that COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company was the first company to obtain the sustainable event management certificate “ISO 20121:2024” is an example for other event management organizations to follow the requirements of sustainable event management.
