Since this month of November, the piece has been part of the heritage exhibited in the capital of Andalusia in a privileged place alongside 50 pieces of goldsmithing and sacred art from throughout the region, as reported by Dolores’ older brother , Jose Maria. Herrero, at ABC.
This is not the only element of the capital’s heritage, since a silver arch from the Holy Cathedral of Cordoba is also present. The Crown of the Virgin had been part of other exhibitions, but always in the territory of Córdoba. The medal was placed in a special box with all the necessary security measures and was presented on Sunday, November 3.
The work, in silver and stones, was created by the goldsmith Rafael Peidrosupported by the inhabitants of Cordoba and imposed on the Virgin on May 9, 1965. It is a work full of iconography and personality.
The scene of this major event was the esplanade near the old Meliá Hotel, which was the first Marian coronation ceremony in Córdoba, capital among the many that took place later.
The Seville exhibition is part of the vast cultural program of the International Congress of Brotherhoods and Popular Piety.
