The Cortes demand the dismissal of the State Attorney General with mutual accusations of corruption between the PP and PSOE

The Cortes of Castilla y León, at the request of the PP and with the support of Vox, requested this Wednesday the immediate dismissal of the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortizdue to the cases in which it was immersed, in a debate marked by mutual accusations of corruption between popular and socialists, since the first pointed the finger at the Government and the second at the causes which affected the Council, without having given any ‘explanations.

The spokesperson of the PP in the Cortes, Ricardo Gavilanes, justified the proposal by the fact that the appointment of the attorney general was presided over by controversies, by the fact that he was not considered suitable by the General Council of the judicial power (CGPJ), by the fact that the Supreme Court found him guilty of abuse of power and is now personally investigating him in criminal proceedings, reports Ical.

Added to this is the investigation opened by the Supreme Court. for revealing secrets after the release of a statement to deny that the tax data of the partner of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, had been disclosed.

After emphasizing that the prosecutors of the Supreme Court opposed the execution of the order to amnesty the Catalan independence leaders for all crimes, he accused the government and the PSOE of being “a mud machine” , also leaving the note in the room. to the “affairs” of the president’s wife, Begoña Gómez, which Judge Peinado is investigating.

Concretely, the PNL of the PP, which received the “no” from the PSOE and Podemos and the abstention from the UPL-Soria Ya, asks the Council to address the government to request the “immediate dismissal” of Álvaro García Ortiz as state attorney general. for the “discredit that their actions cause in an institution which must be impartial and independent”.

In addition to the dignity of State institutions and, in particular, of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the State, guaranteeing its functions of “promoting the action of justice in the defense of legality, the rights of citizens and the protected public interest”.

“The goal is not to divide but to strengthen the judicial system, a more global justice,” summarized Gavilanes, who affirmed that the PP government “has never” granted amnesty to “criminals.”

Lose time

The socialist Ana Sánchez accused the PP of “wasting time” and “playing ball and merits with the boss, Ms. Ayuso”, and transferred her support to the Attorney General in the case of the “confessed crook”, in reference to the partner of the Madrid president, to ask what Since when is it a crime to make a statement to deny some facts.

However, he transferred to Castilla y León the dignity of the institutions to which the PP appealed to recall that They are not there to “give lessons” in the face of corruption schemeswho “looted” 1.1 billion from citizens, for which they did not give explanations.

Thus, he mentioned the hiring of Ignacio Cosidó, who “started to control” a room of the Supreme Court, as advisor to the President of the Council or this advisor Suárez-Quiñones declared that the government “deceived the judges.” in a sentence about the wolf.

“Before giving lessons, we must give an example,” criticized Sánchez, who spoke of “the curse” of the former vice-presidents of the Council, convicted for the mining affairs and Gürtel, and stressed that Fernández Mañueco “has always been there.” “, in open files, including that of wind farms.

It is for this reason that he described those of the PP as “Pharisees and hypocrites” and concluded that “when they give an explanation on the cases of corruption, we will still speak.” “If you feel shame, remove the PNL and if you don’t know shame, when you ask for Mañueco’s dismissal, let’s see if you are ready to ask for someone else’s.”

“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when the PP talks about the integrity of institutions, of separation of powers”, began Pablo Fernández, who recalled how Ignacio Cosidó “boasted of controlling Chamber 2 of the Supreme Court”, to whom he pointed out that he had proposed himself as senator and then committed himself as trusted staff of the Council “You use the institutions and the judiciary to play politics. If you truly believe in the integrity of institutions, dissolve them and put your clothes back on,” he concluded.

Miguel Suárez (Vox) questioned the impartiality of the person “appointed by the socialist mafia” with whom he accused the PP of agreeing and expressed his “anger” for stating that they wanted to give of dignity to the institutions when they agreed on the General Council of the Judiciary, Court of Auditors, Mediator, the distribution of the institutions of the European Parliament or even the rejection of the law of concord. “How are they going to dignify anything in the hands of corrupt socialism,” he summed up.

Vox’s lawyer, who described the socialists as “mafia and camorra”, proposed an additional amendment to include as the first point of the text the dismissal of the president and members of his government for “corruption”, which does not mean the popular promoter agreed.

From the Mixed Group, Francisco Igea argued that the PP is the “pig” of regeneration and indicated that a prosecutor cannot and should not appear in court in front of his subordinates, but he rejected that “democratic regeneration” or “his strength”. . “Here, it is a crime of tax fraud that is being prosecuted, and not a political adversary,” in reference to Ayuso.

Luis Mariano Santos (UPL) said he understood the PP from a political point of view in terms of polarization. He recognized that it is a paradigmatic NLP of “sowing the feeling that the same crime can be declared in one way or another depending on whether the judge is conservative or progressive”, this is why “they have little respect for judicial independence”.

The Leonese deputy refused to enter into the debate raised, although he admitted that he was “embarrassed” to see the Civil Guard search the Attorney General’s office, and considered that “they preach independence but do not practice it. “They forget what is voted on in the Cortes”, where he stressed that the suppression of values by the Castilla y León Foundation is not respected.
