Moscow’s Basmanny Court has seized assets worth more than 100 million rubles belonging to the top manager of the Rosatom state corporation Gennady Sakharov and his wife in a bribery case, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the court ruling, the arrest was imposed on three apartments in the capital, three cars and a parking space.
Moreover, almost all of the property is registered in the name of Sakharov’s wife. The real estate is located in different residential complexes in the west of Moscow, each of the apartments has approximately the same area of 63-66 square meters, and a parking space has been seized in one of the residential complexes located on Vernadsky Avenue. His wife owns a Zeekr 001 car produced in 2023, the market value of which, according to open data, is about 7 million rubles. In addition, her second car, model 2022, was seized from her.
The court also confiscated the car, the registration certificate of which, along with the keys, was found during a search of the top manager’s country house near Vnukovo. According to the documents, the car is listed on the balance sheet of Intens Engineering LLC, of which Sakharov is a beneficiary.
Previously, he held the position of Director for Capital Investments, State Construction Supervision and State Expertise of the State Corporation Rosatom. Since the beginning of the year, as Rosatom reported, Sakharov has been transferred to the post of Head of Construction Project Control.
The criminal case was opened in late March. Sakharov was accused of receiving a bribe in exchange for assistance in the implementation of large-scale contracts concluded with organizations subordinate to the State Corporation Rosatom. He faces between eight and 15 years in prison. The case also involves the company’s general director, who is accused of having given a bribe.
Sakharov did not admit his guilt, but during questioning he confirmed the fact that he had received money from the company’s general director for consulting the organization on the execution of contracts.
