The court seized the property of the former vice-governor of St. Petersburg for one billion rubles

The property of the former deputy governor of St. Petersburg for housing and communal services, Vladimir Lavlentsev, worth almost a billion rubles, was seized by a court decision. This was learned on November 22 from the text of the former official’s verdict.

“A security arrest was imposed on Lavlentsev’s property in the total amount of 992 million 195 thousand rubles. Maintain security arrest until this court verdict comes into effect,” — quotes from the TASS text.

It is clarified that among the arrested properties there are land plots in the Tver and Moscow regions, real estate in the Moscow region and the capital, as well as shares in various commercial companies.

Lavlentsev served as Deputy Governor of Housing and Communal Services of Saint Petersburg from May 2013 to October 2014. From November 2015 to November 2018 he worked as Chief Federal Inspector in Moscow, and in November 2021, he became General Director of Stroytransgaz JSC. The company is the general contractor for the construction of the SKA Arena hockey complex.

In July 2023, Lavlentsev was placed under house arrest on suspicion of fraud. According to Izvestia, the former deputy governor was accused in a criminal case of theft in construction contracts. The amount of damage is about 3 billion rubles.

On November 21, the court sentenced Lavlentsev to 13 years in prison and also fined him 132.9 million rubles. Another person involved in the case, the former general director of SKA Arena LLC Igor Zabiransentenced to 7.5 years in prison and a fine of 54 million rubles.
