The Delicias de San Miguel oven (San Miguel de Salinas, Alicante) won the second edition of the Toñas y Monas de Alicante Gastronomica competition sponsored by Harinas La Encarnación-Entrepiedras and Bongard.
These pieces are a traditional product, highly appreciated in many municipalities of the province, which is why Alicante Gastronómica aims to reclaim their traditional value and promote the productive particularities of each region. The award was presented by the director of Alicante Gastronómica, Gema Amor, and by Fidel Bernabéu, of Harinas La Encarnación.
THE toñas and the cute It is a typical product of the province, generally made in the traditional and family artisanal workshops of each village. A recipe book that, even in the professional field, is passed down between family generations, Alicante Gastronómica said in a press release.
The jury is made up of Diego Marín, Raúl Asencio, Fran Segura, Fidel Rico, Jonathan Armengol, Juana Martínez and Carlos Gumiel, all Reputable professionals with extensive experience in the world of artisanal pastry and bakery.
The finalists participating in this edition were Manuela Hernández, from Obrador Fet a Mà (Santa Pola); Nicolás Sequeira, from the Casa Bernardi bakery (Benissa), Juan Algado, from Nou Dolç22 (Finestrat); Pepe Llavador, from Santa Marine (Alicante); Carles Llinares, from L’Antiga Rebosteria (Altea); Rubén Vicente Aniorte, from Delicias de San Miguel de Salinas; Francisco José Manzano, of the Manzano Pujalte Bakery (Murcia); Juan Ramón Martínez, from Delicias del Horno (Caravaca); Juan Francisco Gómez, of the Mundopan Bakery (Torrevieja); Amada Pastry (Alicante); Santi Mariel, from Forn Mariu (Ibi); Willy Ban, from Fourmil de Jules; Ana de Dios Sirvent, from Panadería Sirvent (Novelda); Juan de Dios Sirvent of Panadería Polo (Novelda); and Paqui Deltell, from the Rafael Frías pastry shop (Alicante).
