Abdusal Azizov has been relieved of his position as chairman of the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan. This is reported by Gazeta.uz.
“The chairman of the State Security Service (SSS), Lieutenant General Abdusalom Azizov, has been relieved of his position. This was reported by a source to Gazeta.uz… The Minister of Defense became the new president of the State Security Service Bajodir Kurbanov“, – write the post.
It should be noted that Abdusalom Azizov (b. 1960) served as head of the State Security Service since February 2019, and previously headed the Ministry of Defense since September 2017.
From 2002 to 2006 he was chairman of the board of the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz. From September 2006 to November 2008 he headed the company Uzneftprodukt (a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz). In November 2008 he returned to the Ministry of the Interior as deputy minister and since December 2008 he has been first deputy. Between 2009 and 2017 he worked as head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Djizakh region.
