Eight days have passed and the family of Izan and Rubénthe two children aged five and three missing in Torrent (Valencia), does not lose hope of being able to find them. At six o’clock in the afternoon of that fateful October 29, the flood destroyed the house where they were playing with their father. The electricity was cut off, the water went through a wall until it flooded the house located next to the ravine and carried the three people downstream. He tried to save them but the force of the storm was uncontrollable and he was only able to climb a tree where he remained hanging for five hours.
The town of Torrent has dedicated itself to the search for the two little ones. Every morning at 10:00 a.m., neighborhood searches are organized from the neighborhood of The Cullawhere the house stood, and they went down the river to inspect every detail. At the same time, the professionals also paint every centimeter of the land. Civil guards, police and firefighters, including volunteers from the Civil Protection Volunteer Group of Sant Antoni de Portmany – Ibiza (Balearic Islands).
Some of the people who participated in the excavations of Izán and Rubén in recent days point out that “they searched a large part of the Barranco del Poyo and its banks but found nothing.” “It’s devastating», they emphasize. “It’s an area that no one talks about but has been completely destroyed,” said another volunteer.
According to family members, the children did not go to school that day and their mother took them to her mother-in-law’s house before leaving for work. His father came to pick them up in the afternoon and they went home to wait for him. “When the alert sounded, there was no more house,” lament some of his relatives who are taking part in the tireless search. “Izan and Rubén are two very happy children, We don’t lose hope because it’s the last thing to lose. I hope someone was able to find them,” explains the little ones’ aunt, Bárbara Sastre, in statements to TVE.
At the same time as the drama, the family of the two little ones must deal with misinformation on social networks. He latest hoax was denied by the SOS Desaparecidos association, which warned against the dissemination on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram of the photograph of a three-year-old minor found in Laredo (Mexico), who had been linked to Rubén. “Unfortunately, it’s not Rubén, the little boy who disappeared with his brother Izán in Torrent because of DANA. This is a Mexican case whose veracity we have serious doubts,” confirmed the president of SOS Desaparecidos, Joaquín Amills.
