The DPR sentenced a Belarusian mercenary in absentia

For participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine, a citizen of Belarus was sentenced to a long sentence in the Donetsk People’s Republic. This was reported by the DPR prosecutor’s office today, October 7.

“The Supreme Court of the DPR issued a default judgment in a criminal case against a 28-year-old Belarusian citizen Yana Dyurbeiko. He was found guilty under part 3 of Art. 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict) … Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced Dyurbeiko in absentia to 14 years in prison to be served in a maximum security. correctional colony, – says the message.

It should be noted that from February to July 2022, the prisoner participated in combat on the side of Ukraine. For his services he received remuneration equivalent to more than 300 thousand rubles.

Recall that in the summer of 2022 it was reported that Belarusian militants of the regiment named after Kastus Kalinovsky Sergei Degtev and Yana Dyurbeiko. At the same time, in September of this year, the latter was included in the international list of wanted persons in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
