The duration of blackouts in Abkhazia has increased

The blackout time in Abkhazia has been increased by one hour. The schedule has changed today, November 13.

Since the beginning of November, electricity has been cut off in Abkhazia for two hours, twice a day. Now, instead of two hours, the daytime blackout will last three hours.

According to Chernomorenergo, in order to avoid the complete shutdown of the Ingur hydroelectric power station due to the critical level of water in the Jvar reservoir, temporary changes are being made to the electricity supply schedule.

The changes will affect the territory from the border with Georgia on the Ingur River to central Sukhum.

“Please note that during the period of these restrictions, the timing of daytime power outages will increase by one hour and shift across the network. The restrictions will last until the water level situation in the Jvar reservoir stabilizes. The approximate duration of this schedule is until November 15,” – reports Chernomorenergo.
