Kyrgyzstan’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union has had a positive impact on the country’s economy, according to Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Kubanychbek Bokontaev in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.
“Of course, joining the EAEU has had a beneficial effect on the economy of our country. According to macroeconomic indicators, for nine years, the average annual growth of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP under the conditions of the union was 3.9 percent. Nominal GDP in 2023 amounted to more than 1.2 trillion soms and tripled compared to 2015. In addition, budget revenues tripled and the volume of trade with the EAEU states doubled.” – said the diplomat.
Among other advantages, he highlighted the access of Kyrgyz citizens to the single labour market of the EAEU.
“The union’s preferences have significantly simplified the employment process and created the conditions for legal, voluntary and safe labor migration.” – added Bokontaev.
