The Ebeko volcano on the Kuril Islands spewed ash to a height of 1.4 km. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Sakhalin region on November 13.

“At the Ebeko volcano (1,156 m high, located 7 km from the city of Severo-Kurilsk, in the northern part of the Vernadsky mountain range), an emission of ash occurred at a height of 1.4 km above the sea level. The plume extended northwards for a distance of more than 5 km.” — reported the department’s press service.
