This year’s directory Galician Economic Forum highlights the good situation of the Galician economy, while advocating influencing aspects such as productivity. This is reflected in a yearbook presented at the headquarters of the Afundación in the presence of the Minister of Economy, Carlos Corpo, and the Minister of Economy, María Jesús Lorenzana. and the president of Abanca, Juan Carlos Escotet.
The minister made special mention of Galician companies, highlighting their export recordwith the improvement of the surplus in the first half of the year. For her part, the minister highlighted the economic situation of Galicia, while asking the Central Executive for a “real and loyal” collaboration to promote the reindustrialization of Galicia.
Escotet, in turn, referred to the “crucial moment” from an economic and social point of view and said that we live in a time of “great challenges”, among which he cited demography, transformation of the energy model or digitalization with Artificial Intelligencel, among other aspects.
On the other hand, Santiago Lago, director of the Forum, stressed, based on the articles collected in the yearbook, that the economic situation has been “better than expected” in the region, while emphasizing productivity issueswhile congratulating the Galician government for being “better than average” in Spain. “The great challenge for Spain and the EU” is to achieve a solid and dynamic positive evolution,” added editor-in-chief José Luis Gómez.
