Regional government praises “solidarity and ethical commitment” shown by the educational community of Socovos by welcoming the 34 students from Letur into the local school. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Amador Pastor, at the reception of the students of the CEIP ‘Notre-Dame de l’Assomption’ de Letur’ (Albacete) to the CEIP ‘León Felipe’ in Socovos (Albacete).
In his statements to the media, the advisor stressed that this measure was possible “thanks to an educational community which considered that the best option “What we could offer the children affected by the floods in the neighboring town was that they would return to a normal life and an educational routine, far from an affected environment.”
Amador Pastor thanked the work carried out by the management team of the three centers implied, the two schools and the IESwhile specifying that “the duration of the measure will be extended as long as the emergency command center remains installed in the school in the city of Albacete”.
The head of Education also highlighted the special nature of the arrival of students from Letur to the Socovos school, which, in his opinion, “confirmed the values that we all share in the most difficult times” .
Back to normal
It should be noted that the IES “Serranía Baja” of Landete (Cuenca) today returned to normality in its classrooms, after the students of the educational center were receiving online classes due to the breakdown of a bridge over the Algarra river following the DANA.
This measure was possible thanks to the work carried out between the regional government and the transport companies involved, facilitating alternative routes to allow the arrival of the transported students.
With this measure, all educational centers concerned by DANA have today resumed their face-to-face teaching activities.
