The eight neighborhoods of Pamplona that will benefit from technological improvements in their streets

THE Local Government Council of Pamplona City Hall approved eight contracts for the renewal of public lighting integrating LED technology, for a total amount of 961,749.10 euros.

The replacement of 1,162 lighting fixtures will be carried out in the Ensanche, Iturrama, Santa María la Real, Orvina, Azpilagaña, San Jorge, Etxabakoitz Sur and Plaza del Castillo.

The objective of the substitution is “improve the energy efficiency of installations and reduce carbon footprint and light pollution,” while “increasing safety and accessibility for pedestrians and commercial activities.”

The contracts stipulate a deadline of 12 weeks for the work, although the replacement must be executed and certified before December 31, 2024. The renovation in Ensanche concerns three pedestrian streets with high commercial activity: Roncesvalles Avenue and García Ximénez and Tudela Streets.

The contract corresponds to NOI SAL Electrical assembliesfor an amount of 122,221.82 euros, and concerns 136 lighting fixtures. In the case of Iturrama, the price corresponds to the company Montajes Eléctricos Pamplona SA, for an amount of 207,999 euros.

He affected areaare the streets Fuente del Hierro, Iñigo Arista, Esquíroz, Serafín Olave and Iturrama, with the replacement of 218 light points.

THE renovation in the Santa María la Real district There are 165 light points and the award goes to the company Montajes Eléctricos Pamplona SA, for an amount of 124,751 euros.

In Orvinathe renovation of 107 luminaires, without acting on the supports and maintaining the current lighting design, is entrusted to the company Montajes Eléctricos Beloki SL, for a total of 94,235.09 euros. The affected streets are Miravalles, Fermín Daoiz, Cildoz, Azoz, Mugazuri and, in part, Ezkaba Street.

Inside Azpilagaña neighborhoodthe renovation of 100 light points in streets, squares and parks, managed from three command centers, was awarded to Montajes Eléctricos NOI SAL, for an amount of 77,266.27 euros. The update concerns Labiano, Zolina, Joaquín Maya, José María Beobide, Río Alzania, Río Salado, Dámaso Zabalza and Río Ega streets.

As for the San Jorge district, the company Montajes Eléctricos Pamplona SA will be in charge of renewing 191 lighting fixtures. The prize is in the amount of 132,979 euros and concerns the streets Doctor Alexander Fleming, Doctor Irigaray, Santa Vicenta María, Miguel Servet, Doctor José Alfonso, Doctor Anselmo Goñi and Sanduzelai.

THE renovation of lighting to LED technology This also affects the Etxabakoitz Sur neighborhood, specifically Etxabakoitz street, Grupo Urdánoz, San Raimundo and Virgen del Soto streets, in addition to the river promenade of the Elortz River. The winning company is Electricidad Pipaon SL, for an amount of 157,488.49 euros.

THE the action includes the replacement of 96 street lamps and the renovation of 5 pedestrian crossing projectors, as well as 70 residential lighting fixtures.

The renovation of lighting fixtures is included in the Neighborhood Lighting Plan of “progress in decarbonization and the energy transition within the framework of global objectives of mitigation and adaptation to climate change”.

It is estimated that a third of public administration consumption in Pamplona corresponds to the Town Hall, and electricity represents more than half of the consumption: public lighting represents 30% of municipal energy consumption and is the origin of 35% of emissions from municipal installations.
