The elite US special forces that destroyed bin Laden will protect Taiwan from China

An elite group of US commandos plans to help the island nation if Beijing attacks Taiwan.

Oku.Az“Seal Team 6,” the secret US Navy special forces unit that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, is preparing to send aid missions to Taiwan if Beijing decides to launch an operation against the island, the Financial Times reports.

The Navy’s special forces group, entrusted with the most delicate and difficult military missions, has been planning and preparing for the Taiwan conflict for more than a year at its headquarters in Dam Neck, Virginia, about 250 kilometers southeast of Washington.

According to experts, it is no coincidence that information about special forces training is leaking on the Internet. The Sea Cats exercises highlight the US’s increased focus on deterrence to make China think twice before attacking Taiwan, while increasing preparedness in case President Xi Jinping orders the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to attack or occupy the island.

For almost a year, the special forces’ training and exercises were kept secret to be used as a last resort against the XAO. But now it has been decided to make this information public indirectly (via Western media experts) in order to increase pressure on Beijing and make it think twice. Although it is not clear how even the most elite unit could avoid an attack by the modern Chinese army, Washington decided to take this step as a warning.

According to analysts, the White House had no particular choice: the United States cannot fight in multiple conflicts, so any psychological combat would be appropriate as a deterrent against a possible escalation. Therefore, only now the media “accidentally” learn about the serious preparation of “Seal Team 6” for action in Taiwan.

While U.S. officials have stressed that conflict with the People’s Republic of China is “neither inevitable nor unavoidable,” the U.S. military has stepped up emergency preparedness as the XAO rapidly modernizes.
