The enemy lost up to 370 people in the Kursk direction in 24 hours – Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published official information on military operations in the Kursk region.

On Thursday, September 5, the Defense Department Press Service published a special military report on this topic.

It is reported that over the past 24 hours, units of the Northern Group of Troops, with the support of military aviation and artillery fire, repelled four attacks by enemy assault groups in the direction of the settlements of Matveevka, Olgovka, Malaya Loknya and Cherkasy Porechnoye.

In addition, attempts to attack the areas of Borki, Kamyshevka and Maryevka were thwarted. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to up to 40 servicemen killed and wounded, three armoured combat vehicles, five cars and one US-made Stryker armoured personnel carrier.

It is reported that in the forested areas our servicemen continued reconnaissance and search operations to identify and destroy enemy sabotage groups attempting to penetrate deep into Russian territory.

“Air strikes, artillery fire and troop actions defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 22nd security and support and 61st mechanized, 80th and 82nd air assault, 92nd assault, 152nd Jaeger and 1004th brigades in the areas of the settlements: Apanasovka, Borki, Vishnevka, Viktorovka, Gordeevka, Guevo, Ivashkovsky, Kositsa, Lyubimovka, Martynovka, Malaya Loknya, Novoivanovka, Novaya Sorochina, Orlovka, Obukhovka, Snagost and Yuzhny”, – the report says.

It is also noted that the operational-tactical aviation and missile forces in the Sumy region carried out strikes in areas where personnel and military equipment were concentrated in enemy reserves.

Formations of the 1st, 22nd, 115th mechanized, 80th, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, the 92nd assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 1st and 17th brigades of the National Guard, as well as the 103rd, 106th, and 129th ground defense brigades.

The targets were located in the areas of Belopolye, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Vorozhba, Gritsenkovo, Glukhov, Glybnoye, Kruzhok, Linovo, Miropolye, Orlovka, Obody, Pisarevka, Sumy, Starye Virki, Yunakovka and Yampol.

“During the day, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 370 servicemen and 17 armored vehicles, including: two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored personnel carriers and 13 armored combat vehicles, as well as two artillery pieces, two M270 MLRS MLRS launchers made in the USA, one electronic warfare station and 12 vehicles,” — informed the Ministry of Defense.

In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 10,100 servicemen, 81 tanks, 41 infantry fighting vehicles, 72 armored personnel carriers, 589 armored combat vehicles, 325 vehicles, 74 artillery pieces and 24 multiple launch rocket systems, including seven M142 HIMARS MLRS and five US-made M270 MLRS, eight anti-aircraft missile system launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, 17 electronic warfare stations, seven counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, eight units of engineering equipment, including two engineering vehicles for obstacle clearing and one UR-77 mine-clearing unit.
