The enemy lost up to 400 people in one day on the Kursk direction – Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published official information on military operations in the Kursk region.

On Tuesday, September 3, the Defense Department Press Service published a special military report on this topic.

It is reported that over the past 24 hours, units of the Northern Group of Forces, with the support of military aviation and artillery fire, repelled five attacks by enemy assault groups in the direction of the settlements of Borki, Maryevka, Kamyshevka and Cherkasy Porechnoye.

Attempts to attack the settlements of Komarovka, Korenevo and Olgovka were also thwarted. Enemy losses amounted to 25 killed and wounded, two armoured combat vehicles and three cars were destroyed.

“Air strikes, artillery fire and active troop actions defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 22nd and 61st mechanized brigades, the 80th, 82nd and 95th air assault and 152nd Jaeger brigades, the 1st National Guard brigade and the 1004th security and support brigade in the areas of the settlements of Apanasovka, Borki, Vishnevka, Viktorovka, Gordeevka, Kositsa, Krasnooktyabrskoye, Princely First, Kurilovka, Lyubimovka, Martynovka, Mikhailovka, Malaya Loknya, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Plekhovo and Snagost,” – the report says.

It is also reported that our units continued to conduct reconnaissance and search operations to identify and destroy enemy sabotage groups in the forests attempting to penetrate deep into Russian territory.

“Operational-tactical aviation carried out strikes in the Sumy region in areas where personnel and military equipment were concentrated in the reserves of the 22nd, 41st and 61st mechanized air assault brigades, 80th and 82nd, 92nd assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 101st, 103rd, 119th and 129th ground defense brigades, as well as the 1st and 17th brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine in the areas of Belopole, Vorozhba, Velyka Pisarevka, Glukhov, Myropolye, Novaya Sich, Novoivanovka, Pavlovka, Pustogorod, Cellars, Starye. Verki, Stukalovka, Sumy, Khoten and Yunakovka.” – said the military department.

According to the Ministry of Defence, during the day the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 400 servicemen and 12 armoured combat vehicles, as well as three artillery pieces, one MLRS launcher, one combat vehicle of the missile and anti-aircraft weapons complex, one electronic warfare station, 12 vehicles and two units of engineering technology in this section of the front.

In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 9,300 servicemen, 80 tanks, 38 infantry fighting vehicles, 70 armored personnel carriers, 561 armored combat vehicles, 273 vehicles, 68 artillery pieces and 20 multiple launch rocket systems, including six HIMARS MLRS and two US-made MLRS.

Eight anti-aircraft missile system launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, 17 electronic warfare stations, seven counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, eight engineering equipment items, including two engineering clearance vehicles, and one UR-77 mine-clearing facility were also destroyed.
