The European Union (EU) has decided to impose penalty duties on electric cars imported from China.
Oku.Az This is reported by the DPA agency (Deutsche Presse-Agentur).
It should be noted that the European Commission has imposed a tax of up to 35% on Chinese cars.
Brussels accuses Beijing of artificially lowering the prices of electric cars through government subsidies. In Europe they claim that this leads to unfair competition in global markets.
This position is mainly expressed by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock. Considers that it is necessary to protect the European market from unfair competition.
“China wants to flood the European and German markets with hugely subsidized electric cars, just as it did with steel and solar energy. This measure is not intended to isolate China, but to ensure fair competition. We do not want a trade war with China, but we also want We want Beijing’s unfair market and we must not allow them to continue using corrupt practices,” said the German Foreign Minister.
