The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected the processing of a sea oven’s appeal on Wednesday in order to temporarily suspend his punishment for disqualification for a state position, which at the moment does not allow him to introduce himself in the 2027 presidential election.

On Tuesday, the leader of the French extreme law resorted to the court based in Strasbourg in order to request suspending the immediate execution of five years of disqualification imposed by the French court, in March last year, to leak the state funds of the European Parliament (PE).

The court rejected the request to Wednesday, because “the existence of an inevitable risk of an irreparable attack” was not established for the rights of Le Pen, as indicated in the application in the judicial case.

Marine Le Pen and eight Eurodipwedes of their training were sentenced in March last year for a waste of 2.9 million euros of state funds. Le Pen received five years a fine from disqualification from immediate execution, as well as four years of prison and a fine of 100,000 euros.

The verdict, who left the leader of the national group outside the presidential race of 2027, is waiting for an appeal planned to be allowed in the summer of 2026.

The ECHR decision arises on the same day when the French police registered the headquarters of the party in search of evidence according to his alleged irregular financing during the campaigns in the regional and presidential elections in 2022 and the European of 2024. Records also spread to companies related to the party for revaluation.

“The opposition party has never been subjected to such a persecution under the republic,” said the current president of the National Group Jordan Bardell.
