The European People’s Party is prepared to give the green light to the Spanish candidate for the new European Commission, Teresa Ribera, if she is undertakes to resign if accused for his management of DANA and once give relevant explanations to the Congress of Deputies on this issue next Wednesday, say sources from the popular group.
These two conditions would also go hand in hand with the fact that the social democratic and liberal groups in the European Parliament would give their support to the Italian ultraconservative candidate for vice-presidency of the CommissionRaffaele Fitto and Hungarian far-right Olivér Várhelyi as health commissionereven if the latter could see some of its powers reduced.
