This Wednesday, the trial against the man accused of the murder and beheading of his ex-partner, Natalia, a 46-year-old auxiliary nurse, began before the Malaga Provincial Court. The defendant, a 45-year-old man, faces a request for
25 years in prison for murder plus an additional nine months for violation of restraining order
it weighed on him.
Natalia had reported her ex-partner for sexist violence a month before the crime. According to the prosecution, the man tricked her under the pretext of returning money and took her to a beach in Marbella, where he suffocated her by surprise after having sex, then decapitate her, cut off his hands and carry out an incision in your abdomen so the body could not be identified. Despite their efforts, the body was found on January 8, 2023.
The accused admitted during the trial that he had committed the crime by a “momentary impulse” and showed remorse. However, the prosecution maintains that the homicide was deliberate, emphasizing the aggravating circumstance of kinship, and underlines the brutality with which the murder was committed. The private prosecution, for its part, requires a sentence 26 years in prison.
Natalia’s remains were discovered on the beach between Elviria and Las Chapas, in Marbellaafter which her family identified her through images shared on social media. Since then, they have been demanding justice for the horrific murder of the mother of two children who reside in Colombia.
The trial, in which a jurywill continue in the coming days while awaiting the final verdict.
