After leaving Russia, foreign car manufacturers lost a lot of money, “when everyone makes up,” they will think about returning, says Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine.
“Companies have left, many have lost money. When everyone makes peace, someone on the board of directors of some company should stand up and say: “Let’s go back to Russia.” Someone should support it and make the decision to invest money. From this moment on, sales of companies like Hyundai and Kia will return in about a year and a half. What about production? “Here everything will depend on the time when the decision is made, because some of our factories have not yet been fully restarted, but still it will be within three to five years.” – Maxim Kadakov said on Sputnik radio.
The return of foreign car manufacturers to the Russian market should be subject to certain conditions, he continued.
“I am in favour of having cooperation in favour of Russia, and not as it was before. This is the most profitable option. Do you want to come with production? Let’s go. But now we are setting up joint ventures, we have the majority stake and only then we start production.” – Kadakov stressed.
