The goodwill ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the famous English actor Theo James, attended the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), organized by Azerbaijan.
AZERTAC reports that the actor participated in the presentation event of the “Refugees for Climate Action” network of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This initiative is designed to make the voices of internally displaced communities heard more loudly in the global climate debate.
In his speech, Theo James called for greater support for refugees affected by climate change and the inclusion of refugees in climate policy.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reportedly attended COP29 to call for support for refugees, internally displaced people and their host communities, who are most affected by climate change but cannot receive enough support.
