In Guba, famous for its apples, the harvest is already over. Farmers are pleased with this year’s yield, but say they face a number of challenges. According to the owners of the farm, the benefit they get from the product is not worth the pain they have to go through for it.
“I have grown a quality product. I cannot cover the costs I incur. The price of a kilo of apples ranges from 50 to 60 kopecks. I am not satisfied with this,” says the farmer.
Another farmer, who said he lost between 3 and 4 thousand manats per hectare, noted that it is more difficult to sell the crop than to grow it.
