Seven people, including family members and former associates of the prime suspect, Ryan Wesley Root, have already been questioned as part of the investigation into the attempted assassination of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

According to him, the department is also investigating information about Ruth’s connection to the recruitment of mercenaries to participate in the Ukrainian conflict.
“We are studying media reports and public statements. [Рута] who wanted to recruit Afghan and other soldiers for [участия в конфликте на Украине]”, – BBC quotes Veltri.
The office also noted that Root had been on the FBI’s watch list since at least 2019 because a man with multiple robbery convictions had acquired a firearm.
In addition, Veltri indicated that Root probably acted alone. The department representatives also stressed that the assassination attempt on the former US president could not have been planned taking into account Trump’s work schedule, since the visit to the golf club in Florida was not planned.
