The fight against corruption attributes to Ábalos a “main role in the framework” of the Koldo affair

The anti-corruption prosecution indicated that the former Minister of Transport and former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, José Luis Ábalos, held a “main role” inside Koldo affair.

In the report sent to the judge of the National Court Ismael Moreno to which laSexta had access, Anticorrupción insists that “it is difficult to understand the operation carried out by Koldo García Izaguirre and Víctor de Aldama Delgado, without the participation of José Luis Ábalos”.

The prosecution, which cites the report of the Central Operational Unit (UCO), indicates that there is a “series of clues” which show the participation of Ábalos and which would lead to his indictment “criminal organization crimes“since “he occupied a major role in the framework created by Víctor de Aldama Delgado to carry out business with Public Administrations”.

According to the prosecution, another of the crimes for which the former minister could be charged is “influence peddling” for “the award of contracts for the supply of masks”, as well as “the award of contracts by two public companies (INECO and TRAGSATEC) to Jessica Rodríguez García”.

The report also mentions the crime of “corruption” andn relationship with Ábalos’ “close friend”, who was hired by an organization under the Ministry of Transport. Prosecutors say Rodríguez lived in a luxury apartment in Plaza de España and whose rent was paid by Luis Alberto Escolano, Aldama’s partner.
